Neue Freiwilligers Schlafzimmern

In the next weeks we are please to greet the new EVS and FÖJ volunteers. We continue to build the future volunteers´ bedrooms.

The Walls are build every time in the same way as clay/straw mix.

The last week I decied to play each day with my new volunteer game as my stones Puzzle :-) Now it´s finish, and today I built a frame which I have to use to build the wall for the Clay Oven´s support.

I´m back after some away time, but I passed with some very difficult time ...

During these few months I participated to a clay seminar, to build a bees hostel and to an alternative energy seminar.

Clay seminar

This seminar was organize by a Joern´s friend, Renata, who have a ecological building company. Renata and the Volkshochschule have orgnized a descovering day to using clay like building material.

It was a very nice day. I was able to share with Joern, his familly but also with other people which are also intressting in ecological building. We were able to learn how to realize a good mix with sand and clay. This mix is use to build clay stones for example. For greedies, the mix principe is the same for make cake.

I met some difficulties to get guickly what I need to start to build the clay oven. Therefor I had to wait several month to get it.

"Groundwork"

The Joern´s towy organized for the 1st May a party where we had a information table. Rodrigo had build a windmill. We took part to build a bees hostel with clay, sand amd wood.

Rodrigo´s Alternative Energy Seminar

Rodrigo organized with other European NGO a alternative energy seminar (windmill, solar cooker, solar shower, Bio Gaz, Bio Diesel). The seminar took place form the 3rd to the 13 of Juny. The goal is to exchange together about the differents means to produce or get energy with wind or natural oil for example. Each mornings we had some conferences and in the afternoons we were be able to participate to workshop (building windmill or bio diesel).

How to work a solar schower ...

A lot of European citizen joined the seminar (Lethonia, Bulgaria, Portugal, France, Roumania ...). We had participate to an excursion about Bio Gaz. We had visit a Bio Gaz compagny located closed to Bad Oldesloe. We was able to understand the Bio Gaz producing process. The main component for Bio Gaz produce is Corn. The compagny use the Corn fermentation to produce Bio Gaz (and other stuff I don´t remember I have to looking for this ... ;-) )

A week-end Island was organise. We went to Pellworm, like you can see on the maps, it´s locate in a North-West part of Germany. Pellworm was the first Solar Panel installation in Europe. It´s a very nice island with a lot of color. We made bike tour around Pellworm.

On Pellworm you can see several windmill. You can see only one in the photo´s background :-)

I know you go to seminars, to school and travel in Deutschland ... but your project ...

Hey, my project, I think I told you in my previous articles ... it´s right or ?? Before to leave to Germany I thought it will be a good idea if i can build a oven. Last summer I participated to the "chantier du viel Audon". During this camp I learnt how to make bred and to beack. I like bread and to cook, and I thought, why not ?. When I arrived in the JUP, I noted we have some neighbour from differents views. I thought it´s will be nice if we can use this oven for some camps and by the neighbour. Like this they are able to exchange their culinary specialties.

To build a oven, yes but how ? If I decied to choose to do my EVS in the JUP it´s because I´m intressting in ecological building. Therefor, I chose to build the oven with stones, clay and sand.

I would like to build a base with clay, and the clay have to be in contact only with normal stones. In fact, if the clay is directly in contact with th grass, when it´s rain, the clay cn me have some water seepage and when the clay dry, it can be appear some cracks. Before to start to build clay stones I have to build a frame.

Nein ! Ich spreche nicht Deutsche ...

Yesterday, I was in my first Deutsch training in the Volkshochschule. I was so impatient to start this langugage training. In the Volkshochschule we can learn langugage, music paint for example. To pronounce he school´s name is very difficult ... you can just try to see... ;-).

I´m in class with people which came from all the World like Pakistan, Irak, Greece, France, Afganistan ... The first training is only to learn how to say the presentation
stuff like where are you come from ? what´s your name ? how old are you ?

Ich heiße Pascal und ich komme aus Frankreich, aus Valence.

The teacher talk with us only in German, and it´s difficult to speak another langague because all people can´t speak english therefor I can just speak German. But I can´t speak German because it´s my first training ... To learn we use a book, it´s good because the excerices are not so difficult.

Today we have a new teacher, he´s very nice and funy. Our training was on the verbs conjugation, alphabet reading and how to identify consonant and vowel.

Nice day... We have to "repare" my old room´s wall because we decide to move the door. In June, the JUP organize for 2 weeks a alternative energy seminar. We hosting a lot of people which will come from a lot of various countries like Esthonia, Portugal, Roumania, France, Bulgaria, ...
The material used to repare the wall is only ecological, we use straw and clay.

During the Arrival seminar we can learnt more about Europe and Germany. Like in my Departure seminare we had a lot of games and workshop. On the week-end we have visited köln and Bonn. This seminar was difficult due to my english level which is not so good and to speak German now is impossible (I never learnt before). The Arrival seminar was most of time ... every time in German but with english translation. I learn 2 langages together is not easy ...
I can met a lot of people from Russian, Lethland, France, Spain ...

Nächste Station ... Walberberg ...

A bit more one month pass and I have to make my Arrival EVS seminar. This seminar take place in Walberbgerg, a small city situed between Köln and Bonn. Each european volunteer have to do 3 seminars, the first is the arrival, the second is the midel term seminar and the last is after the end of the voluntary service. I will be in Walberberg for 2 weeks if I remember my departure seminar I think the arrival seminar will be a bit the same ie with games, meeting and exchange. The goal of this seminar is to meet people which come arround the EU and to create a social network in the host country.

My evolution in the Jugend Umwelt Projektwerkstatt (JUP) is slow and nice. I can progress in english (my english now is a so so bad). In German, I can just understand some word ... I think in 3 month I can start my school to learn German.

In the JUP my project is to build a clay oven. I decide to do this because, last year in the summer I joined a ecological camp and I used a oven. I like bread ;-) and I could used this oven for beacking bread, cake and pizza it was so so nice !! great !!
I think it would be nice if the neighbour (which came from different country) can be back here and share together.

The begining ...

I´m back ... :-) I´m in Germany !!!
I took the train on Thursday, I traveled accross Europe !! I pass by a lot of ctiy like Bruxelles, Liège, Drotmunt, Bremen and Hamburg. My ticket is only for Hambourg Hamburg station and to going to Bad Oldesloe I have to go to the main station as Hamburg HBF (HBF = Hauptbahnof). Therefor, I stop in Hamburg Hamburg, and I have to by a new ticket to take another train to go to the main station. The train which I took was going to the main station ... Well ... When I arrived in Hamburg Hamburg I was able to enjoy to see the tipical German houses :-) I had a lot of lugages and some times it was a bit difficult because they are very heavy. At 9:30 am, I arrived in Bad Oldesloe, an European volunteer, Rodrigo was waiting me. The volunteers´ house is only at 3min from the station. It´s a big house, with 6 room, 1 carport and 1 foodroom.

The German training is every morning (3 hours and for 5/6 month). Near from the house, we have a concert room, anti-faschiste association, the office a library and a kindergarten. We have also a bar called inihaus and youth go there for playing card some times, to dring of course ;-) and also they organize parties some times.

Le train à destination de Hambourg départ prévu 20h49 partira voie C. Ce train est sans arrêt jusqu'à Hambourg.

Hi all, after Christmas party with my familly in Toulouse, I´m back in Valence where I pass just some days before my big travel. I received my train´s ticket on Freiday :-)
Now I´m in a real life ;-)

I have just to make my bags and to break my fear and I´m nearly ready for departure ^^.

Hey !!! I am come back from my Depature seminar !!! :-)
Very nice week with a lot of descovering and emotions. Like a told you, this seminar took place in North of France in Houlgate.

I enjoyed a lot this seminar because I can met a lot of people, exchange about our fear, and what we are waiting from our EVS. During this seminar we did some games, discussion and Theater scence. The goals of all theses activites is to offert to the volunteers the possibility to create a small volunteer network, to help them to prepare their departure as on the pschcologic as on professionnal.

I can met the futur volunteers who leave to England, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, Portugal, Greece, Georgia, Moldavia ... We can exchange with old volunteer. It´s very important before to leave because most of us don´t know where they go. And to have a small call-back from old volunteer can help us to understand better what can be happend in a project like in good or in a bad way and of course what kind of difficulties they met during their EVS.

We took a questions list which we have to answer during or after our EVS.

My depature to Bad Oldesloe is fixed on the 3rd of Jarnuary 2008. Before to leave to Germany I have to do my departure seminar. It´s took place in the Houlgate´s CREPS (Centre Régional d'Education Populaire et de Sport) in "Normandie" from the 3rd to the 7 of December.

The officatial application registration

Now it´s almost ready ... :-)

The application has to send to the French and German National Agency for to be accepted. The application´s registration was the 1st of September 2007 and I had to wait to the end of October to know the final decision. My project is accepted. I had no doubt about this, but while I had no answer I can be sure abvout this ... normal ... :-) Now I can leave !!!!!!!!

I would like to thank Karine Charles, the RomansInternational association´s leader and Joern Hartje the Jugend-Umwelt-Projektwerkstatt´s leader which had work a lot on "my project" to be accepted.

Loocking for a EU project

The European community maintain a big project database which sort EU projects regroupant l'ensemble des projets européens.

From this database I selected 22 projects in ecological building and computer topics.

J'ai contacté tout les responsables de projets que j'avais recensé, cela m'a permis d'obtenir des informations complémentaires sur les projets mais également sur leur possibilité d'accueillir ou non un volontaire. En effet, certains projets ne pouvaient pas répondre favorablement à ma demande du fait qu'ils accueillaient déjà un volontaire.

The happy mail ...

I received a mail from the "project´s leader" which anounce a very nice news about my asking, I am able to join the project !!! I am accepted !!! :-)

The project is on environmentals topics, and allows volunteers to build their own project. Some volunteers work against GMO (Genetic Modified Organism), Alternatives Energies or ecological building for example.

Building a EVS project

To be able to participate to EVS program youths have to find a sending organization. This Non-governmental organization or association support them in each steps of their volontary service. For example the sending organization make the EVS application (volountary project) and manage all things about transport and insurance. The volunteer can have some advices and support when is front of a lot of difficulities (adaptation problems, conflict with the host organization).

I took contact with my sending organization quickly and I go the process way to set up my project (how an where to looking for a project, how to monitor my project choice list).

I had to create my European Curriculum Vitae by using Europass. Europass it´s a european web site which help and design CV for EU jobs research. It´s nice therefor you can save you CV in several format like Openoffice Docuement, PDF, Word and XML. The XML format it´s important like this you can upload or modify your CV easily. You just have to reload the XML file and you can with EU web site do what you want on your CV.

Just a few month to finish my computer science licence I asked myself about what I would like to do. Would I like to start a Master ? or starting a job ? or again to try to make a year in a foreign country ?

I had already work in a compagny for 2 years before to start my licence. I was able to feel all of the diffrents shapes of this kind of job can be. During my licence I make an internship in a social association. This association propose a activities pattern for youth and old people. This internship was in the same way with what I looking for in my job´s environment because I was able to meet a people from various ages, ways and socials environments. I decide to stay in the same dynamic.

Before to start my licence I thought maybe it will be intresting to study or to make an internship in a other country. Therefor, I asked myself which solutions can I find to realise this "a year in a new country".

To leave ? Why and in which goals ?

During my University sutides I was able to participe to a conference day about ecological building. This topic was new for me and I was very interesing in. I had no knwoledges and some ideas about which possibilies exist to help us to build and in the same time to take care about energy saving and nature. I saw a lot of very nices houses. I was also intersting to discover a new culture, a new langugage, meeting people to share experiences and working together topics.

I decide to find in Internet which projects in ecological building topic exist and how can I join it. I found a lot of workcamps where people can help to restore or build buildings. But, most of them propose a short term period and/or I have to pay a lot of travel´s item like for example insurence, ticket to leave and come back or food.
I lived in a scocial building for strudent, people which are looking for a job. And shared my project to leave in another country with an "educteur" and he told me about European Voluntary Service. EVS it´s a project from EU comission which allow youth between 18 and 30 years old to join a project in Europe. This project can be in various topic like ecological, social, cultural against discreminations and more.
This program supply all what the volunteer need like insurance, travel transport, pocket money and accommodation. This is very nice :-)
